Fluorosis is a chronic systematic metabolic disease due to long-term intake of excessive fluoride from water and various other sources. Early presentation was yellowish staining and defect of the teeth, denominated as dental fluorosis. As the disease advanced, the skeletal-joints, the muscles and the nervous system were severely affected, the patients presented systemic pain, skeletal-joint abnormalities and dysfunction and even became disabled and lost the working and self-living ability.









    Brick-tea fluorosis was a recently discovered fluorosis, which was endemic among the minority populations who had the habit of long-term consuming brick-tea. Not only affected children dental health, but also severely affect systemic health of adults.

    Animal model study revealed that brick-tea consuming can result in ental, skeletal, hepatic, renal, and even reproductive injuries. Reduced sperm count and sperm abnormality was found in male animals.
